The linux add-on SAMBA lets Linux act like a
standard windows server, with shared drives etc.
To the app, it looks like the same kind of NT network
drive, so the app won't know the difference.
As far as client/server, if you have done that, there
are several ODBC packages for linux, including MySQL
that works similar to SQL server for backend data access.
