If you're having this kind of trouble with managers, I recommend getting a copy of "The Pitfalls of Object-Oriented Programming" by Bruce F. Webster (ISBN 1-55851-397-3). There's quite a few pages devoted specifically to helping managers understand everything they need to know about OO development!
