Mine is not a good reason, I just did it that way for the sake of enforcing unique project names (before I ever knew about VFP´s error trapping code). This is a value that cannot be calculated; the user input is required. Anyways, I think I´m better off using the textbox´s VALID method and changing the key to regular.
