it makes perfect sense. You are tableupdating a view that in turn posts edits to a buffered table (double buffering). The table will not get updated until you tableupdate the table. Views get their data from the disk file not the table's buffer, since you have not yet tableupdated the table its pending changes have not yet hit the disk file.
