Your BIOS settings must be the same specified onto the HD pack... If your HD is recent, it should use LBA mode.
LBA (a more recent standard) is just CHS compatible... So your PC could work.
I personnaly leave always AUTO into the HD specifications. So the BIOS (if sufficiently recent) workk with all disks.
