I'm currently investigating how we could automatically fill in a mainframe app form via 3270 emulation.
Here's the scenario: We have an app that allows an case worker to fill out an application. This application's data is then stored in a table. Next, the case worker has to fire up a 3270 emulator, bring up the mainframe app and re-enter the data. Hisssssssss. We are NOT allowed to connect to the host system directly.
Apparently, there are systems running that will read the data from a table and automatically fill in the application that's running on the host system with the data.
Anybody have any ideas on how this is done? Is there some 3rd party software out there that allows this? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
