In trying to learn more about the sequence of events as I interact with the controls on my form, I notice that sometimes the Message event is triggered when I change a control's value. The documentation simple says that the message event is obsolete and to use the statusbartext property instead.

Clearly, VFP still uses the message event for something. But I see no messages. When I try using the debugger to look at the contents of the statusbartext property, the latter is always blank (though this could be a result of the form losing focus as I enable the debugger).

Having the Message event fire without seeing a message gives me an unwarm, unfuzzy feeling.

Can anyone explain what's going on here?
