There is also the issue of COST, lets face it, while NT isn't really all that expensive to a corporation, for those of you that have worked in that environment you know how much of a pain it is to get the Accountants to understand why you need to spend 50K to set up this project... When they ask for an alternative, well, we can use the old Pentium 100 server with Linux... won't cost more than $1000 to upgrade the memory and hard drive.

I suppose you have a point there. The opportunity I see here is for Joe Consultant to put some research in and offer a low cost, real RDBMS server solution to small businesses. I don't know if the performance difference will be good enough to discard a standard VFP solution running on LAN.
