>Maybe I'm a little behind the curve on this one, but check out the following. I've done this on VFP 6.0 SP3/Win98, so I can't say it works under different versions(SPs)/platforms.

>I'm always forgetting where I put files. What I've been generally doing is, opening the Windows Explorer, right clicking on the root directory folder where I want to begin my search from, selecting Find from the context menu and searching from the dialog. Then I click and drag the file to the command window to open it.
This will work with VFP 6.0 only.
>I've found, however, that by issuing MODI COMM ? I can right click the base starting point folder, do the find, then cancel out of the Open file dialog, and back to the Find and drag. I've also found that I can Copy, Cut, and Paste from directly with this dialog. Note, if you're not careful you can inadvertantly move files.
Cut, Copy, and paste will work in any version.
BTW, I often do things like _CLIPTEXT = _SAMPLES, then I do USE ? or MODI COMM ?. Then I can Ctrl+V to get the path to the samples directory.
