>Maybe I'm a little behind the curve on this one, but check out the following. I've done this on VFP 6.0 SP3/Win98, so I can't say it works under different versions(SPs)/platforms.

What I've been generally doing is, opening the Windows Explorer, right clicking on the root directory folder where I want to begin my search from, selecting Find from the context menu and searching from the dialog. Then I click and drag the file to the command window to open it. I've found, however, that by issuing MODI COMM ? I can right click the base starting point folder, do the find, then cancel out of the Open file dialog, and back to the Find and drag. I've also found that I can Copy, Cut, and Paste from directly with this dialog. Note, if you're not careful you can inadvertantly move files.

Just to add more to this: I often need an old routine from another directory, and when I try to MODI COMM ?, I find no .prg files there - it usually means I didn't use that directory for a long time, and that I've moved all the files into one .zip file. Then I switch to "all files", and the .zip file shows. I right-click it to get the OPEN verb, it launches the WinZip, I unpack them, close WinZip, and refresh (by going one directory up and then back down, though I think F5 could also do), and there's my .prg ...without ever leaving the Open dialog.
