Title:
Grid & Relation Strategy / Problem ?
I just noticed that if I made a form with a Grid in a Pageframe in that
form, and I set the grid property for table relation, such as :
- LinkMaster
- ChildOrder
- RelationalExpr
- RecordSource Type : 1-Alias
- RecordSource
Then everytime I load the form, the relationship is already taken care
of by the VFP system. I know this by watching the View Window. But the
relationship are ALL look like 1 to 1 according to those lines shown in
View Window, even if the tables already have persistent relationship in
the DBC wich I know (maybe I think) that it is always 1 to Many for
persistent relation.
So if I made the table relation programmatically then I got an error
saying something like "Target table already have a relation".
Now I never set the relation programmatically as long as it works using
the set relation of the grid. And if the required relationship will not
be shown by a Grid Control then I made a dummy Grid just to set the
relationship and make that Dummy Grid NOT Visible.
I'm using VFP 3, with Windows 95.
I would really appreciate any comments, suggestion, idea or sharing what
you thoughts about these, especially when you think I did wrong.
TIA
