Hi Evan
I have being looking into Clarion. Their web site
www.Topspeed.com discusses why IBM chose Clarion as one of the allowable languages to be used in IBM. I got feedback from some third party tool makers that felt that Clarion was a superior environment for database apps. They wondered why I still use VFP. I have seen an impressive grid control written in Clarion that makes the standard VFP grid look silly. However, I do not know about the tech support. The product is expensive compared to VFP. There appears to me to be a steep learning curve.
Just a few thought for what they are worth

>I did a seach on the UT back to 1997. Some opinion from then:
>- partial OOP implementation similar to VB6
>- fast UI
>- data access not as fast as VFP
>- Windows version (in 1997) was unstable
>- tech support not very good (comment was that support techs just looked through user manual for solutions)

>Any more recent comments on Clarion (either positive or negative).
