Do you have exchange and a mail client installed on the server? These will install the required controls for MAPI. Normally this would entail loading Exchange Server and Outlook (or just Outlook on a PC) and setting Outlook to be the MAPI client.

Do you have the ability to try and create the session object from VFP Command line on the same equipment? If you do, this will give slightly more info in the error.

Unexpected error could also relate to invalid settings in the control properties.
