I'd bet on it being video driver related; to prove this out, try switching temporarily to the standrd VGA or SuperVGA driver from Microsoft rather than the vendor-supplied drivers. If the problem goes away, you've found the culprit.

I'd also try a different machine, just to make sure it wasn't a problem with the video card itself.
