David:
Did have one small question which should be easy to answer.
Basically my applications I am updating are single user applications. All databases are open at all times.
You were saying you prefer to use TableUpdate(). Where would you put this? I presume that the database gets written to automatically when the form is closed.
Would you put code to execute when the form is closed on the form's Destroy event?
Thanks

READ EVENTS this will put your program into the event loop. When you want to end your program issue a
CLEAR EVENTS and the program execution will continue to the line after the READ EVENTS.

Prayer of St Ephrem:
O Lord and Master of My Life,
Take from me the spirit of sloth, meddling, ambition and vain talk.
But give me a spirit of prudence, humility, patience and love.
Yes Lord and King grant me to see my own sins and faults
and not judge my brother.
For You are Blessed Forever and Ever. Amen.
