You have my sympathy, but I cannot help you with much more.

This is one of those metrics which should never be used, but it is almost impossible to convince beancounters of such!

Keep in mind that whatever they come up with, you can probably find a low-cost way to make your own stats LOOK GOOD. For instance, you can make heavy use of CONTINUATION lines or of COMMENT lines or even #INSERT files with lots of nothing in them. IF 'they" set a standard for low numbers you can make lines as long as allowed, etc.

The point is that this provided *NO* meaningful regarding the effectiveness or efficiency of any programming, not to mention the more esoteric things like 'does it do as the user needs' and 'is it easy for the user to use' and 'is it easily revised' etc.
