You seem to be right! This SET REFRESH thing does seem to have some influence!

Maybe that is what you were going to tell me when your message was broken off. I used to use this SET REFRESH statement back in the FPD years (but that should not surprise you cfr your posting to Arnon <g>). So I did not read the complete Help text about it. ... and you know what ? It works for free tables as well.
