I think this is a bug in the interface. What you need to do is position the cursor before each part of the number before changing it. In your case, you need to first set the width to 4.0000. Next, you need to position the cursor after the decimal point and highlight the first zero and type in 1. Then, you need to highlight the second zero, and enter 2, and so on...

It's a pain, but it works...
