By that do you mean you want to do this during run-time and not design time? In that case, the suggestion you got from somebody else to put the controls in a container and make the container visible/invisible is the method I'd explore.

FWIW, I've had bad luck with making interfaces with disappearing/reappearing controls. The users really don't like them. They always do better with enabled/disabled. I even try to put in a clue about why they're disabled since they otherwise feel like they are either going mad ("I know it was there last week.") or that your software is trying to drive them mad. :) Just my .02 U.S.
