What I have seen: Average skills, average project, average duration = $60-$80 US. I was reading through your thread with Michel and I can see your problem. I think you're going to have to approach your rate increase incrementally. Hit them up for an immediate increase to $50 per hour on the basis of your longevity and then put it into a written contract that your rate is renegotiated every 12 or 18 months. After 12 months, renegotiate again to $75. Ensure that they know that $50 is still subpar.
