The fact that Remote Views have a DBF representation and are inextricably bound to the VFP environment (i.e., not portable to other environments). The other knock is the fact that RV's are not objects and therefore, cannot be
conveniently passed to and from components. While it is true that SPT ends up being a DBF, at least you have control over what is happening.

In my comments, I think it is fair to say I confused n-tier with COM, which is definitly not the case.

I guess to sum it up, I don't like RV's because they represent an extra layer between the developer and the data that turns out to be more of a hinderance than a help.
