When I started playing around with combos, I read the documentation, lurked on the UT and VFOX forum, and started playing around with them in little test forms before putting them into an actual app. I think that was a big help. It helped me to get a feel for working with them in a stand alone situation before I had to actually use them 'live'. As far as conservative goes...I use grids for data entry :-) Does that sound conservative to you?
