There is a potential problem that I didn't mention, however. The control's location doesn't include the offset of the titlebar or borders. Further, it can if it's in a container, its position is relative to the container, and the container relative to the form, etc.

I think you have some code of mine that you might want to look at for resolving this type of thing. However, don't forget that the code uses relative position of the Windows desktop, not VFP's.
