IMO, VFP's debugger is one of the best I've used. As for the two operating ways, each should try them both and choose the one that they believe is better for their way of working.

Anyway, I really don't see how one can program without using the debugger. In fact, I know how it can be done, but, I also know what are the results of this kind of programming. :)

I think there are few questions about it here on the UT because a lot of people don't use it. I suppose people are more focused on debugging their application than using the debugger.
