I'm using VFP 6.0 SP3, and getting the expected result. I put a SET STEP ON in the DataEnvironment.OpenTables() and a SET STEP ON in the DataEnvironment.BeforeOpenTables(). The OpenTables() method fires, then the BeforeOpenTables() method fires.

Have you tried packing the SCX, or rebuilding the form from scratch? I've had problems before where a form acts very strange until I pack it or rebuild it.

Of course, there's always the ultimate fix: reboot < bg >.
