How do I customize the DTC Grid to show records constrained by my variables.

I don't know how to add my Variable to my Recordset. The resulting query should result from a sql statement like:

Select * from mytable where mydatecolumn <= myVariable

but I don't know how to accomplish this and bind the DTC Grid to it.

Also, I would like to know how to add subtotals and totals at the bottom of the pages of the data grid.

I really need help here and would really, really appreciate any suggestions you could give me.
