I understand your sentiment. I think it's going to be rather difficult to trace down, unless you can confirm how the relationships are working and since you have the record pointer moving in to separate contols.

What happens if you take out the refresh all together.

Also, you didn't answer about the form wizard. If you are basing your form on a classlibrary, you may have overwritten any parent methods.
