Being WEB-challenged myself, I too have not really had any luck with the UT Search. What I think are the search parameters seem to be ignored for me and I 99% of the time end up with a huge list.

When I went back to search & re-entered the parameters, there were only 5 messages displayed. All the parameters were the same. Where are the other messages?
