At first I'd say this is completely normal but I guess I should ask just *how* slow is it running on the 486 ? Does it take a minute to load or does it take seeral minutes? How long does it take to load on the Pentium? There's a huge difference in speeds between a 486 and a Pentium 200 so I would expect a big difference in the app speed.

Other factors to consider are: The executable may be 1.6 but the Foxpro runtimes and other dlls you might be using can take up to several more MB's. Mine apps usually take no less than 6 MB of actual memory. So, make sure you're running your 486 with lots of memory. I'm assuming your running Win95 on the Pentium too? If not, then there's also a difference in operating systems speeds.

Is this a normal situation or can execution be optimized ? There is such a huge difference when running the same program in a Pentium 200 Mhz PC.
