Thanks Lorne,

Since many of my fields are varchar, this is good info.

>I use both Oracle and MS drivers, and seem to have little trouble with either. To work on my Oracle databse, i.e. created views, synonyms, etc, I use Interdev and the Oracle (8.0.5) driver. It (Interdev) does syntax checking, and seems to recognise PL/SQL code. To connect and use the oracle tables from VFP, I use MS's Oracle driver. I am not certain if that is the main reason VFP seems unaware or Oracle keys. The MS driver is better at translating VARCHAR(n) and LOBS/BLOBS to VFP than Oracle, and will read a BLOB as a General field, a LOB as a Memo field. I have not tried that with the Oracle drives, yet.
