Hmmm...that doesn't sound too optimistic, Fred :) After a little analysis, I can see the pattern: any images with white backgroud are fine, it's the other colors that muck things up.

Well, I see an obvious but rather unpleasant solution: make two copies of the images, one a white-background version for disabling, the other normal, and switch them back and forth when changing Enabled < s >

I guess I'll put this problem on hold for the moment, my users won't be going to NT for a few months...maybe some better brainstorm will come along...
