It is possible for the FPT do have an earlier timestamp. For example, if you edit non-memo fields in the table, the DBF gets a new timestamp but nothing was edited in the memo field so the FPT did not change.

As for the memo fields out of sync, you could try PACK MEMO. COPY TO a tempfile, then a ZAP and APPEND FROM the tempfile might help. Other than that, AFAIK, the options come down to table repair utilities and low level file hacking.
