Hi Sharrie,

I am in the same situation as you, i.e. a large FPD application which is impractical to rewrite. My solution is to write a migrator program whith the help of Dragan of the UT and tips from otjer here.

My goals are:
1) Make the migration as automatic as possible;
2) End up with an OOP applocation that uses my first level classes, not VFP baseclasses;
3) Since I based application on CodeBook, provide replacement objects for the Control screens.

The strategy used is the following:
1) Continue to use SCATTER/GATHER at first;
2) In order that variables have proper scope and procedures are found create wrapper programs where the old screen's Setup and Cleanup/procedures reside;
3) Bracket code in the original project so that it takes into account the version of Fox being run.

Not an hour ago I emailed a copy of the newest version of the migrator program to the UT together with the VCX/VCT files. If you wish I mail same to you or you can download it from the UT when it gets posted.

I would appreciate your comments as well as those of t=other here.

HTH,

Alex
