I create a form with text box and have a free table in the data environment. The text box have a controlsource to one of the field (Eg. Name). What I don't understand is if I make changes to that field it over wrote the previous record.Why?

What I want to do is to allow the user to make changes to the text box without over writing the previous record and actually save or replace the record when the user pressed the SAVE or REPLACE command button. How could I accomplish this situation?
