Then I don't understand why do you want to reach FULL OPTIMIZATION in development time ????? Is it only to know if certain indexes are used ???

If it is... I've never had any problems with commands which seemed not be using an index when it should. During development I'm fully aware how the commands are going to be optimized (Except for very complex SQL queries). In the few cases where I want maximum performance I'll do a little testing which index combination will perform best.

I think many people use the SYS(??) command to look if full optimization is reached. But in fact this data may mislead you in a attempt to optimize (and I know there are whole VFP tribes who were mislead by this feature).

Maybe your strategy is good enough for you, but I really do think this is not the most logical and efficient way to determine index use.
