I know what you mean about "odd behaviour". This seems to be my sole source of C...5 errors that I have left. If I set a breakpoint on these kinds of values, I *sometimes* get the C...5 errors. This is usually only after I've exitted VFP and come back into the debugger with these breakpoints left set from the previous session. If I remove these breakpoints BEFORE I exit VFP, there seems to be no problem.
