I was only trying to show him (Scott) how to trap the keystroke so he could then develop his algorithm for solving his overall problem. But it seems a judicious test on the current SelStart/SelLength in the KeyStroke event could help to solve the overall problem. As usual, there's probably several ways of skinning this cat. :-)
