That is, if you are running with SET DELETED ON. I don't and my sys(3054) results generally report full opt.

In those few cases where I must delete records, I'm having good results with setting all of the integer keys (primary and foreign) to the negative of their former value while blanking any other searchable fields. My plan is to delete these records and pack the tables periodically.
