Mapping a drive letter to an internet address in general requyires that the site publish a share name and makes itself available to the network as a remote resource. Under NT, a valid UNC can be constructed using the format \\

path relative to share; under Win9x, a mechanism needs to exist, either appropriate entries in the LMHOSTS file or a WINS server, that can resolve the IP address to a NetBIOS name so that you can the standard UNC notation \\
