David,

(an old thread resurfaces)

Based on Amazon reviews of Hacker's guide, it seems like this ought to be in my library and I'm working on it. Will this provide me with the in-depth understanding of foundation class behavior I'm looking for? My ideal is a comprehensive technical interface spec that fully describes all of the externally observable behavior of the foundation classes. I want control, damn it!
