The trouble with a "same hard core" is that it shrinks rather than grows. Invariably, over time, people in that core will shift to other languages and/or platforms.
As Bill said, because it is in print the uninformed, and this includes the potential programmer but also the Manager with the muscle to veto VFP, will take it at face value. And if the article doesn't get the potential VFP programmer, the VFP documentation surely will. Sure, documentation is not a problem with the hard core, but how will VFP grow????
It will be interesting to learn if MS reacts in any way to that article. My personal guess is that the author's purported statement that VFP is on a downward slide like dBase may prove true as regards the VFP "engine" (and so for VFP generally for many of us here).
