I don't know a whole lot about the subject but I did just read something that could confirm that.

Appearently VFP keeps an internal buffer open for itself. So VFP may have never written that hidden buffer back.

I'm sorry but I can't remember where I read it. I thought it was in 'effective techniques' but I can't find it now. If I do, I'll let you know.
