Yes I am sure about the content of the variables. I have run in the debugger as well as placed wait windows in the code to check their content.

I did an SQL INSERT INTO &cDestName (&cDestFields) ;
VALUES (&CSourceFields) WITH the same result.

All of these things I've done repeatedly in Visual Fox 6.0 but I don't remember whether I ever tried them in 5.0. I don't see where it should make a difference though.
