I heard a rumor once that hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del before hitting the Reset/Power button will flush buffered data.

Have no idea if it is true or not, but for the extra keystroke I do it just in case. Can't hurt to suggest that to your users too if they ever get to the poit of hitting the reboot button.
