I agree with John, I haven't seen any character string dates in Pro 5.0. Did you do the custom work or did someone else? If someone other than SBT did it, then what would SBT sign off on??

As long as you use date type fields instead of character you should be OK. I'd bet that you won't run into to many problems with your Y2K testing.

Just a note for those who have mentioned having problems with SBT Tech. Support. Find yourself a good reseller that you feel you can trust. I must say that almost all of the resellers that I have dealt with have been very knowledgeable.

I've seen a couple of reseller names in this thread that I recognize (John Fabiani and John Kiernan). These resellers are experts. If nothing else, if they can't get things working for you, resellers tend to have a louder voice when talking to SBT.

Resellers recieve priority tech support from SBT and many belong to the SBT Loop (a band of resellers that work together to share ideas and solve problems).

Reseellers also have access to the reseller only area on the SBT tech support web site.

Sorry, I rambled on so.

my .02 worth,
-Don

>We are having problems with even the tech people over this it is like some of them don't know VFP at all. My main concern is the data conversions with dates to strings and vise versa VFP 5.0 drops the four digit date when this happens. Do you know if they used this in their code? or does anyone. It seems that I can not get SBT to sign off on our custom work that we had them do. We have done some prelim testing and are about to move into a serious Y2K testing enviroment in two weeks, I was wondering what I could expect?
