No not at all. I just prefer SQL over directly using rowsource. But it depends. Unlike other controls :
-Combo's when event fires "anytime" as you move between items
-Record pointer "moves" in its rowsource. This sometimes is the desired effect where sometimes just cause headaches.
I think the latter is important more when you have to decide the rowsourcetype.
