Actually we've got an NT network...but you know, in that thread that Mr. Shaneson gave me...there's one post about using TCP/IP rather than IPX as it's MUCH more stable...this makes sense, but can sometimes be a hassle to set up...you might try and look seriously at using an IP only network...netware 5.0 does an AWESOME job of using TCP while still supporting apps that require IPX...check it out:)

As far as our prob...haven't figured it out yet, but we haven't tested the part about Write caching on the server or using TCP/IP.

Very interesting...and while no real answer was given, still alot of good suggestions and reasons on why it's happening
