>I've been a little confused reading different opinions here on the UT. I need to store some infomation about the local machine in my app. The registry seemed like a logical choice, but I have seen some complain about "differences" between 95/98/NT registries. So then I thought I should use an .ini file, but I read where people have sworn off using .ini files (no explanation why). Please share your opinion on this subject, and why you feel the way you do. Thanks for your help.

MS says you should not be using INI files, that the registry is the way to go. Registry classes detect the OS and handle the reads/writes properly.
