>Bruce, I think Dragan is on the right (write?) track here. NT and Netware can do a thing called "Opportunistic Buffering" when files are open by only one user. So this problem could be completely outside of FoxPro. In NT this option can be turned off at both the client and the server.

I have NT Server with Win95 - I'll take a look on the server, see if I can find anything like that setting. Soon we'll move to NT Workstation also, so maybe then I can have better control.

Anyway, as you guys have suggested, naturally I've been assigning blame for the data loss to the server & network instead of my applicatio or vfp, since it actually could be true :)
