Hi Denis.
>I once read that theyre was a bug in the referential integrity builder in VFP 3.0 (which I am using right now). The bug was supposedly caused by RI compound indexes.
The RI Builder and the code it generates both have shortcomings and bugs. Fortunately, the source code for the builder is provided with VFP 6 and the shortcomings can be addressed and bugs fixed. My column in the August 99 issue of FoxTalk (the article is available at
www.pinpub.com/foxtalk/home.htm if you don't subscribe) presents a version of the RI Builder that fixes a number of shortcomings and bugs in the RI code.
I also recommend getting the book "Effective Techniques for Application Development in VFP 6" by Jim Booth and Steve Sawyer (available from
Hentzenwerke Publishing. This book provides a routine written by Steve that replaces the RI code with tighter, faster, better code.
